According to a Kennywood press release, demand is up for the region's largest amusement park, as are the number of applicants applying to open roles, which has positioned the park to expand to new daily operations on Wednesdays after starting the season in May by only operating Fridays through Sundays.

Effective June 9, Kennywood will be open every day of the week. In total, the park will add nine operating days to its season which has been expanded to the end of October. This a violation of federal law which limits the slope of wheel chair ramps. The tunnels are too steep to safely allow a wheelchair to be pushed up and down.
