What do you like most about your job? What is the most challenging thing about your job? I think what I love most about my job is not my passion for science, but the lives I can make a difference in every single day. But the days when there is threatening weather, when you have tornado warnings or a hurricane moving toward people or flash flooding occurring, I really love the privilege I get to help warn people and help them stay safe and get through the storm.

I think the most challenging thing is that the weather can be ever-changing at times, and trying to keep up with it and be as accurate as I can and get out information as fast and accurately as I can.

If not, why? Also, there are events with my family I have not been able to attend because of my busy work schedule and even around the holidays it can be tough.

Over the course of your career what is the most exciting thing that has happened to you? Is there anything you wish you had done differently in your career? After graduation, her first job was as a freelance reporter for Zanesville Times. She stayed there for almost 2 years until October She has amassed this amount from her career as a news journalist for Weathernation and other previous networks she has worked for.

What inspired you to become a meteorologist and pursue a career as an on-air weathercaster? I was just three years old when my Mom told me her story of surviving the F-5 tornado that wiped out Xenia, Ohio during the Super Outbreak of The tornado formed across the street from where she was and touched down in the backyard.

My Mom worked with the Red Cross to help victims and it was at that moment I felt it was my calling to study severe weather and storms to help keep people informed and safe. I continued to study weather, how the local meteorologists covered it, and then got into the morning news in Middle School doing weather reports. I love what I do every single day and how I can make a difference in the lives of people, storm or sunshine! It spawned tornadoes, flooded our local beaches and streets, produced incredible wind damage, and tossed boats out of the harbor.

I love being out in the elements reporting on the latest weather conditions and impacts but more importantly, keeping people informed, safe and prepared when Mother Nature is at her worst.

I love educating and inspiring our youth by setting a positive role model and speaking to them at career days and giving classroom talks.
