Why guru nanak went to mecca

I feel sorry for the people tricked by you…. I have no problem with spirited debate. A supreme being — responsible for creating this giant universe and beyond — is not concerned with being disrespected, offended, what name that being is given.

There are billions of life forms all across the universe. Guru Nanak did not disrespect Muslims or Islam — he was reminding them of what is true about for all faiths — God is omnipotent — remember that. We are all the children on 1 supreme being — a being that endowed us and empowered us with Free will so that we can choose are own paths. Hello Amit, Thank you for putting my comment and thank you for being honest with me about your opinion. And as I mentioned, Islam understands clearly that God is omnipresent omnipotent, etc….

I would love to see people understand that important fact, that Muslims have feelings. And a basis of respect is that it is the side that might or might not be respected who defines that something was disrespectful for him, not the other way around.

I am not willing to make people change their minds whatsoever, but just clarifying something important that is respect for the peacefully minded people in order for them to better know how to deal with Muslims. There is a slight error in the story.. His feet didnt return to where the stone was.. It could be an illusion probably bt this fact was written by muslim scholars from mecca..

No one can possibly validate the story perfectly all we can do is pay attention to the wonderful message trying to be shared and then live according to that doctrine. I just read an article from apparently a Sikh scholar who discredits the story of Baba Guru Nanak ever going to Mecca. He made a strong point that Muslims would have mentioned in their Books about it and even built a shrine. His claim was strengthened by another historical fact of a meeting between Baba Guru Nanak and Harun Rashid.

That meeting was impossible due to time difference of s of years. Anyone who attempts show whether this story true or not is missing the point. Regardless of whether your story is true or not. But no one can deny the meaning or the lesson behind the story. Skip to content Wisdom Share 5K. They stayed somewhere probably in a nearby village or town. They stay outside the holy shrine area in villages, towns or tents. There is no mention anywhere that he observed ihram, did twaf, ran between Safwa and Marwa or sacrificed an animal.

For pilgrimage all these rituals are absolutely essential. As for saying Namaz, there is no evidence that he followed an Imam or uttered Quranic verses anywhere. If one still thinks that Guru Nanak Sahib Ji was a Muslim, then would you accept such pretenders as Muslims who conceal their faith?

Guru Sahib never stated that he was a Muslim, instead he did the opposite. My body and breath of life belong to Allah - to Raam - the God of both. The muslim world of Nanaak's time 15th Century was also very different from today. Traveling from one region to another was common. Then the muslim world was a very open place, and if you were a citizen of one region it was very easy to enter another -- in large part because the idea of nationhood was not really part of the world view. You came from a city-state but were a citizen of the mulsim world.

Mecca, which is in Saudi Arabia today, was under the protection of a sheik. There was no Saudi Arabia with a customs office to check your passport. In fact all of Saudi was a collection of principalities each governed by a ruling family. An entirely different place. Do sikhs believe in Allah? Macauliffe, the author, lived in India during the raj. He was a highly placed official of the British monarchy. How ignorant But how can you ask a question like ' Do you believe in allah? Why cant you ask Do you beleive in god?.. There is no difference.. Arvind said:. Sufism has no place in islam. And brother what you are referring as famous references are not at all islam.

Guru nanak ask to move his feet were god is not there, so when his feet turn, kaaba also move. It shows that god is everywhere, we cannot limit god where He will not be somewhere or what.

No big deal, eventhough the kaaba moved, its just a direction for us to pay. Seriously, no big deal. Through this incident of turning kaaba and the conversation in between Maulwis and Guru Nanak, Guru Nanak successfully gave this message that God is everywhere not sitting at one place.

Sir, with all due respect.. The books you have mentioned i. Israr-e-shariyat and all have been written by common people and cannot be considered authentic with regards to religion. How could there be any mention of his visit in these religious books? This evidence from said book is historical evidence not the religious.

For your kind information, authenticated evidences of his visit and turning of Kaaba to welcome him, are avilable in Sikh manuscripts. You are so true sir… Out of sudden why now everyone is bringing up this issue.. But this statement given is purely false. No evidence.. The holy Qoran Majid foretell on the creation of the Khalsa-the pures. The prophecy about Sikhism in the Quran Majid:. Allah will love this nation, and they will love Him. You will know of this nation by the sign that they will be harsh on non-believers and gentle with believers.

They will give up their lives for the path of Allah and will remove tyranny and will not be afraid of any criticism. That is the favor of Allah ; He bestows it upon whom He wills.

And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing. In the name of religion, only Muslims take the lives of innocent people of others faith. Is it justified? What will happen if people of other faiths or the govts. It will take few seconds to them. So please stop the killing of people of others faith. After doing some raincheck around with some very well versed souls with all due respect to your effort veerji , probably the logical conclusion, whereby the point to be noted herr is those who heard Guru ji in their minds saw the move as a change of thought.

If all had seen the Kaaba move, it wud have been the end of Islam, as all would have converted, no? Sorry for a late reply as i missed your comment. You might be aware of preaching of Gita at Kurukshetra where Sri Krishna preaches divine knowledge to Arjun in battlefield. Sanjay could hear it and described to Dhritrahtra sitting miles away at Hastinapur. Sanjay was blessed so he could hear but why nobody else in battlefield hear the preaching of Gita?

And nobody fought until the preaching was not over as time was made to hault? Is it possoble? So Mr. Anilraj Singh ji, had others also heard, the battle in Kauravas and Pandavas would have not fought, both could be blessed by this divine knowledge why only Arjun was benefitted? Why Lord Krishna was kind upon him? So whatever happened at Mecca and why islam not stopped, might be known to Guru Nanak.

If he could turn the Kaaba, made the attackers statues or if he could go anywhere at his will,m he could end the Islam also but he preached Muslims also in Guru Granth sahib ji to be a true Muslim. Gurus were not against any race or religion but preached that almighty Akal Purakh or the Allah is not bound at one place only but he is everywhere so by turning kaaba, he proved it. You have provided references as you have said that those reference are from Muslims scholar. Ali, Either search the said documents in Medina university or go to heaven to meet the scholar there.

Non-muslims were not allowed to enter in Mecca and also non-hindus were not allowed to enter Jagannath Temple. But Sarab-kala samrath Baba Nanak entered both the places. Amazing post!
